Relax/Release Techniques
Many of the patients that we see at Back Trainer Institute state that their pain will increase if they stay in one position for prolonged periods (for example, standing in lines at the grocery store, sitting for more than an hour, sleeping, etc.):

Problem: Chronic muscle-holding patterns of the global abdominal and back muscles.

Assessment: Dr. Knudsen will assess the lateral abdominal muscles and lower back muscles with real-time ultrasound imaging.  He can measure the thickness of these muscles while at rest to diagnose the problem.

Solution:  Relax/Release Techniques: Relaxation techniques focused on optimal breathing to relax the trunk and muscles.  Release techniques that utilize specific movement patterns.  Real-time ultrasound imaging for biofeedback and to verify that muscle relaxation occurs.

Once again, Welcome!
